Return & Refund Policy
We want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase. Please review the following policy carefully, especially if you are ordering from within the European Union.
1. Right of Withdrawal (EU Customers)
If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 30 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period is 30 days from the day you or a third party designated by you (other than the carrier) received the goods.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us by email at mail@burmester.de with a clear statement of your decision to withdraw. You may use the model withdrawal form (available here), but this is not mandatory.
❗ Exclusion of the Right of Withdrawal:
According to Article 16 of EU Directive 2011/83/EU, the right of withdrawal does not apply to:
Sealed audio recordings that have been unsealed after delivery.
This includes our shellac records. If the record’s seal has been broken, the item cannot be returned unless it is defective or damaged upon arrival.
We recommend only opening the record if you are certain you wish to keep it.
2. Returns Due to Damage or Defect
If your order arrives damaged or with a manufacturing defect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will either:
- Replace the damaged item (if stock permits), or
- Refund the full purchase amount, including shipping.
To begin the return process, please email us at mail@burmester.de and include:
- Your order number
- A description of the issue
- Clear photos of the damage to the item and its packaging
We will respond within 3–5 business days.
3. Return Conditions & Costs
If you are exercising your right of withdrawal (as described in section 1), the following applies:
- You must return the item within 14 days of notifying us of your withdrawal.
- You are responsible for the return shipping costs.
- The product must be in its original condition, unopened and unused.
- If you are returning a damaged or defective item (as described in section 2), we will cover the return shipping.
Returns should be sent to the address we will provide during your return process.
4. Refunds
Once we have received and inspected the returned item, we will issue a refund to your original payment method. Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.
